Hargot, Rose Ann (3 December 1920 - 12 October 2011)
Rose A. Hargot, age 90, of Eau Claire, formerly of Lublin, WI, passed away on Wednesday, October 12, 2011, at Dove Care Healthcare - West. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. Rev. John Long officiated and burial followed in St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was held at the church, on Wednesday, from 9:230 a.m. until time of service.
Rose Ann Siemek was born on December 3, 1920, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Samuel and Rose (Bedrich) Siemek. As a young girl, her family moved to the Lublin area, where she was raised and received her education. Rose was united in marriage to Sigmund Malinowski on July 2, 1938, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin. After her husband’s death in 1942, Rose move to Chicago to work. She was a real life "Rosie the Riveter," operating a drill press in a factory during World War II. Later, Rose returned to the Eau Claire area and worked as a nurse’s aide for many years at the Claremont.
She had many interests, but especially enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, cooking and volunteering at Sacred Heart Hospital.
She is survived by three daughters: Vi (Tom) Miland of Eau Claire, Stella (Skip) Auchterlonie of Dover, DE, and Rita (Daniel Olson) Hargot of Oregon, WI; one daughter-in-law, Bea Malinowski of Bloomer, WI; seven grandchildren: Troy (Julie) Malinowski, Jeff (Tammy) Malinowski, Mark Malinowski, Kurt (Amber) Malinowski, Diane (Tom)Ryan, Tori Olson, and Niall Olson; six great-grandchildren; Cooper Malinowski, Jacob Malinowski, Adam Malinowski, Sarah Malinowski, Emily Ryan and Christopher Ryan; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sigmund; her only son, Jim Malinowski in 2003; and all of her nine siblings.
