And still the sun is shining on half bare field and roads, making it a matter of choice, whether to use sled, sleigh, cutter or rigs on wheels for travel.

Mr. Koser’s brother, who did the painting and varnishing for him, left Tuesday morning for Marshfield and Milwaukee.

Gustave Heinrich commenced Tuesday on the work of putting up the new machine shed for Degener.  F. Waterman, Thode Herriman and Wenzel Gebhard helped with the carpenter work.

Mr. and Mrs. Eide, Mrs. henry Albrecht and Mrs. A. Hogenson and son Ores made a visit at Waupun, Madison and other place last week, returning on Monday.

The first meeting of our district school social center which was held last Friday proved to be quite successful.  It was opened with the song "America" and everybody helped to sing that national anthem.  Then Mr. L.A. Allen spoke for about 10 minutes very interestingly on the parcel post question, throwing new light on some points of the system, which perhaps most of the people present were not aware of.  Then the question was raised whether to hold another meeting,a nd it was decided unanimously to hold another one in two weeks hence.  A. Hogenson was elected chairman of a committee consisting of H. Koser, Mrs. A.W. Wendorf, Mrs. A. Degener.  It seemed to be very much the sentiment of all present to continue holding these meetings throughout the winter.  It certainly helps to get better acquainted with you neighbor and will help to create better fellowship.

A little party, we’ll say farewell party, was given at H. Koser’s house in honro of Mr. A. Koser and Mrs. Gebhard.  Card games were played, music of different kinds was had, and an agreeable lunch was served by Mrs. Koser.

At the after service meeting of the Lutheran congregation enough money was raised by subscription to buy two lots of Koser and Engsberg, upon which the Lynn church building will be erected this summer.

Among those who attended the lecture at Granton Wednesday evening were Dr. and Mrs. Housely, Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Wendorf, Mr. and Mrs. H. Koser, Mr. and Mrs. Anton Hogenson, L.A. Allen, Miss Vivian Degener and Clark Waterman.
