St. Mary’s Church (Czestochowa) near Stanley was the scene of the marriage of two couples at 10:00 a.m., Oct. 18^th, 1958, when Father Edward Marsalewicz joined in holy wedlock, Ruth J. Kurtinaitis and Edmund J. Burzynski, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Burzynski of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Anna P. Kurtinaitis and Joseph S. Grabowski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Grabowski of Thorp.  The brides are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Kurtinaitis of the Town of Withee.

Serving as maids of honor were Emily Burzynski of Chicago and Dorothy Grabowski of Marshfield.  Attending the brides were Louis Petrauskas and Antonette Milawski of Minneapolis and Delores Milawski and Jenny Kurtinaitis of Thorp.

The groom’s attendants were Andrew Burzynski and Pfc. Edward Latto.  Billy Urban and Edward Kosik served as ushers.

Both brides, who were escorted to the altar by their fathers, wore the traditional bridal gowns with Sabrina neckline, three quarter length sleeves and train fashioned of Chantilly lace and tulle.  The skirts of tulle and lace were caught up into points draping out into the train.  They were fingertip veils with crowns of alce and pearl sand both carried cascade bouquets of red roses.

The maid of honor were dressed in princess line gowns with three quarter length sleeves and Sabrina neckline made of dark blue crystalette over dark blue taffeta.  Cummerbunds of lighter blue matched their headpieces of light blue and white carnations.

The grooms wore light blue jackets and black trousers with white ties and white carnation boutonnieres.

The dinner and reception, attended by about 1000 friends was held at St. Hedwig’s Hall in Thorp, which was beautifully decorated for the occasion ith white, dark and light blue streamers with four big balls in the center.  The double wedding cake was connected with an arch on top of light blue and white bells.  It was tinted light blue with white trimmings and white and blue flowers.

Emil Kodl and his orchestra furnished music for the evening of dancing.

Mr. and Mrs. Burzynski left Tuesday for Chicago to spend their honeymoon and on their return will reside in Thorp.  Mr. and Mrs. Grabowski left Friday on their wedding trip and will make their future home in Chicago.

Out of town guests were from Chciago, Milwaukee, Abbotsford, Minoqua, Longwood, Gilman, Marshfield, Stanley, Mt. Clemens, Mich., St. Paul, Owen, Athens, Willard, Neillsville, Chippewa Falls, Rhode Island and California.
