Kubat, Mary (5 December 1877 - 9 May 1963)
A requiem high mass was read Saturday morning in St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Mary Kubat, 85, of Neillsville, who died May 9, following a long illness. The Rev. Bernard T. Kelly officiated. Burial was made in the parish cemetery.
A Parish Council of Catholic Women rosary was said Friday afternoon at the Bergemann Funeral Home, and a general rosary service was said in the evening.
Mrs. Kubat, the former Mary Chadek, was born December 5, 1877, in Czechoslovakia. She received her education there and worked in a hospital until her marriage to the late Frank Lukas.
In July 1914, they came to the United States and settled on a farm in the Town of York. On July 20, 1920, she was married to the late Joe Kubat. They farmed in the Town of Lynn for five years and moved to Neillsville in 1933. In November, 1942, she was married to Frank Kubat, who did in 1947.
She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and its Parish Council of Catholic Women.
Mrs. Kubat is survived by a son, Max Lukas of Neillsville; two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Josephine) Cervenko of Elkhorn, and Mrs. Leo J. (Marie) Kubat of Chicago, Ill. Six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Miss Bessie Cervenko in Czechoslovakia, also survive.
Pallbearers were: Frank Dobes, Frank Simek, Louie and Frank Walter, Robert and Louie Zschernitz.
