Dust thou art and to dust thou shalt return again. Gen. 3-9. So where is you hell coming in?
Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Davis and Effie Davis visited at the Byron Stevens home at Spokeville last Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Loyal Jordan and Grandma Martin made the H.A. Knoll home a welcome call last Sunday.
The Harry Oens baby is improving under Dr. Ross’ care.
Too much on top of your head, too little about your feet, not enough around your waist will cause indigestion, corn on your toes and an over-balanced think pot. Men will not stand and gave at half-clad spinsters in this cold weather and it is to your benefit to put a little more on your feet, dress well you extremities and take that pumpkin cover off your head and place a good warm shawl instead, and when your time come perhaps you will be of some benefit to somebody.
Tom Gibson and Peter Hotchkiss called at the Writer’s home last Sunday. These fellow are both for the benefit of the people of this town and are trying to give the community a close shave. One gets paid for what he don’t know and the other for what he is trying to learn. At the resurrection day these fellows will stand a poor show. However, they are quite intelligent and are not to blame for what they don’t know. They are beginning to talk the English language quite well and anyone can notice their politeness among the rooters. It would not be fair to criticize our visitors, although we would have been just as well off without them. Again Peter is begotten somewhat with fairly good spirits, but as long as he hangs around with Tom he is spiritually unprepared to understand Tom’s taste for spirits and Tom will have one to the good on the spearing professorship. We have known both of these fellows for 20 years and by no means would consider them fugitives or outlaws, but only clean cut gentlemen from the word go, that is if you believe a liar’s story. It is said they both greatly enjoyed their visit and greatly appreciated our company. In regard to that we’ll keep mum. But where is our share of enjoyment coming in Pete? Well be that as it may, boys, wish you a happy new year and a Merry Christmass and hope that the next time Tom will trust Pete. And with this happy explanation which might have a more convincing effect on popular thoughts it does not solve the whole question. Be of good cheer, boys, be thankful it isn’t worse as you expected something of this caliber. Come again, visits of that sort are appreciated.
