Ruedy, Earl (25 Years in Education - 1963)
The completion of the school year this week marks the end of a quarter-century of teaching in the Neillsville Public School system for Earl Ruedy, elementary principal.
Actually, Mr. Ruedy has been a member of the Neillsville faculty for more than 25 years. He came here in March of 1938 - at mid-term - as a replacement for Al Moldenhauer, who went from the Southside Grade School to Gilmanton. At that time Mr. Ruedy was teaching in Gilmanton; but the exchange by no means was a "swap." Moldenhauer later served for a time as principal at Granton, also.
His 25 years as an educator in Neillsville was marked at a recent meeting of teachers of the system. At that time Herbert Williams and Charles Hoehn of the high school faculty - with the collusion of Mrs. Ruedy - presented a "This is Your Life" story of Ruedy in pictures.
At present, Mr. Ruedy is principal of the elementary system here, a position which he has held since its creation two years ago as a result of the school consolidation process. (More but it was cut off).
