Oniszcuk, Carl (4 NOV 1894 - 22 DEC 1958)
Funeral services were conducted by Father Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Chapel at ten o’clock Friday morning for Carl Oniszcuk, 64, of the town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), who passed away at the Marshfield Hospital on Dec. 22, 1958, after a lingering illness.
The deceased was born in Poland on Nov. 4, 1894. He came to America about the year 1915 and located in Reseburg township near Thorp on a farm in 1917. He also resided in Milwaukee and Chicago for a period of time and served the U.S. Army in World War I.
On Aug. 15, 1918 he was united in marriage to Stella Nowicki at St. Hedwig’s Church at Thorp, who still survives him.
Other surviving relatives are one son, Edmund Oniszcuk, West Allis, Wis., and two daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Byron, West Allis, and Angeline Fruhman, Thiensville, Wis.
He was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s New Cemetery. Military rites were accorded the deceased at the grave by the local American Legion Post, with a service read by Harry Badzinski, a salute by the firing squad and the sounding of taps. Pallbearers were Tony Pajak, Vilas Nowicki, Stanley Zawacki, Victor Zielinski, tom Kornesczuk and Wm. Przybylski.
