Cukla, Bernadette (27 DEC 1958)

Married Saturday, Dec. 27th, 1958, in a Christmas setting at St. Hedwig’s Chapel, were Bernadette Cukla, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cukla, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), and Clayton Aumann.  His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Aumann of Stanley.

Rev. Francis Piekarski officiated at the double ring ceremony and celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of Mass.

The organist was Sister Mary Paulette, Milwaukee, sister of the bride.

The bride chose a simple white taffeta and satin wedding gown designed on classical lines.  The long sleeves were fastened with tiny covered buttons which also detailed the back of the long Basque type bodice.  Her veil was held to a satin crown etched with pearls.  She wore a double strand pearl necklace and earrings, which was a gift from the groom, and carried a bouquet of red poinsettias.

Carol Cukla, Chicago, cousin of the bride, was honor attendant, wearing emerald green velveteen.  Bridesmaids wearing street length frocks were Rosann Ebben, Eau Claire, and Grace Sylla, Madison.  The attendants wore holly crowns and carried white poinsettias.

Best man was Eugene Aumann, Eau Claire, brother of the groom.  Other attendants were his brother, James Aumann, Beloit, and William Plombon, Milwaukee.

Seating guests were Frank Cukla, Chicago, and Eugene Lahr, Jr., Eau Claire.

The ceremony was followed by a family breakfast at St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall and a 6 p.m. reception.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Marshfield, and has attended Marquette University.

The bride-groom graduated from Stanley High School.  After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force, he attended the Northwest Telegraph School in Minneapolis.  He is now employed by the Chicago and Northwester Railroad.

The couple will make their home in Eau Claire, Wis.
