Williams, Leslie E. (29 JAN 1924 - 29 OCT 2011)

 

Leslie Edgar Williams, 87, of Marshfield, passed away on the evening of Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011, at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side.

His memorial service will take place at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011, at Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Spencer. The Rev. Mark Krueger will preside. 

Committal services will take place privately at a later date at a place that was special to Leslie and Lenora. 

The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service. Following the services, full military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 358 of Unity.

Leslie was born Jan. 29, 1924, the son of the late Edgar and Elnora (Loos) Williams. He attended various schools in the Colby area. After proudly serving his country during World War II in the United States Army, Leslie returned to the area and married the former Lenora Wucherpfennig on July 19, 1952, in Colby.

He was employed as a mechanic and body repair man at companies including V&H Truck, Mid-State Truck and Bauman Buick, all located in Marshfield. Hobbies included camping and road trips some being long ones and some short ones. His real love was traveling with his wife to the Black Hills and Badlands in South Dakota. They both shared many wonderful memories there.

Leslie is survived by his loving wife, Lenora, of Marshfield; his seven children, Larry (LeAnn) Williams of Neenah, Lynn Williams of Marshfield, Lenise (Roger) Johnston of Arpin, Lane (Jackie) Williams of Marshfield, Lee (Vickie) Williams of Pittsville, Lance (Lynn) Williams of Marshfield and Leroy Williams of Marshfield; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Doraine Allar of Spencer and Diane Raczykowski of Phillips. 

He is further survived by his very special in-laws, Lucille and Jim Bauer of Marshfield, Carol and Victor Sandley of Spencer, Lois and Shorty Aumann of Loyal, Walter and Eileen Wucherpfennig of Marshfield, Glen and Deb Wucherpfennig of Spencer, and David and Nancy Wucherpfennig of Medford; along with many special nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends.

Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; and one daughter, Lynette.

Memorials are being accepted in Leslie's name for a charity to be determined by his family at a later date.
