Salter, Female (October 18, 1886)
Note: Original article printed in the Colby Phonograph, Thursday, October 21, 1886
Frank Salter appeared on the streets Tuesday morning with a grin on his face that made his mouth appear like the mouth alluded to by Zachariah Spice, so large that he could not east custard pie without mussing his ears.
He immediately proceeded to the meat market and purchased a double quantity of meat, saying that as the family increased accordingly, and that the 10 ½ pound girl which came Monday evening was worth something.
We are pleased to say the mother and child are doing finely and with proper care the father will pull through.
