Zugier, Alvin P. (August 9, 1943 - September 18, 2011)
Alvin P. Zugier, 68, of Kennan, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2011, at his residence.
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2011, at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester with Reverend Bonnie Jacque-Gorecki officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.
Alvin was born August 9, 1943, in Marshfield to Paul and Mabel
(Lueddecke) Zugier.
He attended Pickard Elementary School and was a 1961 graduate of Abbotsford High School.
Alvin joined the US Army serving from 1961 to 1964, stationed at Fort Lewis Washington and was a member of the Red Arrow Division of the Wisconsin National Guard. He was a dairy farmer most of his life. Alvin married the former Christine Bueschel on November 11, 1987, in Medford.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Christine of Kennan; eight
children, Rachel (Nelson) Caudill of Kentucky, Benjamin Zugier of
Medford, Paul Zugier of Kennan, Sarah Zugier of Prentice, Jacob,
Hannah, Samuel and Joseph at home in Kennan; seven grandchildren,
Caleb, Howard, Charles, Moses, Judah and Carolyn Caudill and Noah
Schroeder, two brothers, Marvin (Dolores) Lueddecke of Kimberly and
Duane (Sandra) Zugier of Abbotsford; and a sister, Eileen (Rodney)
Ellenbecker of Athens.
Alvin is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Ronald
Zugier.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester is assisting the
family with arrangements.
