Trindal, William W. (4 October 1914 - 23 May 1963)

Funeral services were held in Loyal Monday afternoon for William W. Trindal, 48, widely-known feed and grain merchant and harness horse enthusiast, who died from a heart attack shortly after his admission to a hospital in Marshfield.

The services were conducted from the Methodist Church, with the Rev. Paul Doering in charge. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.

Trindal, who had assumed management of the O. W. Trindal Company before the death of his father in 1961, suffered the attack while at work in the Trindal elevator company office last Thursday morning.  He was rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed at 12:40 p.m.

Masonic rites were conducted at the Myre Funeral Home at 8 p.m. Saturday, and the Marshfield Elks Lodge, of which he was a member, conducted a Lodge of Sorrow at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday.

He was born October 4, 1914, in Chippewa Falls; Trindal went to Loyal with his parents, in May of 1924.  His father built up a wholesale and retail feed business which included five retail outlets.  It, was this business which Trindal had assumed management of before his father underwent heart surgery in Philadelphia several years ago.

As a youth, Trindal was interested in horses, and in his later years he owned several riding horses and was racing two harness horses on some of the leading harness tracks of the nation at the time of his death. 

He attended the public schools at Loyal and majored in business administration at the Wisconsin State colleges at Stevens Point and Whitewater, joining his father in the Trindal Company after completing school.

On October 31, 1935, he was married in Loyal to the former Dorothie Thomas, who survives.

He was a member of the Loyal Methodist Church, the Loyal Masonic Lodge, the Consistory at Eau Claire, Zor Shrine at Madison, the Elks Lodge of Marshfield, and was a member and past president of the Loyal Rotary Club.

Mr. Trindal had been influential in the promotion of the Loyal Clinic, and served as secretary of the Loyal Medical Center, Inc., and also was a director of Memorial Hospital, Inc., at Neillsville.

Surviving besides his wife are: his mother, Mrs. O. W. Trindal of Loyal; four children, Lee, serving with the army at Colorado Springs, Colo., Shelby, Cynthia and Sheila, all at home; and by two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Janice) Rice of Marshfield and Mrs. Rod (Joyce) McSwain of Green Bay.
