East Lynn (28 April 1910)
The surprise party last Saturday evening at Fred Grade’s drew an unusual large crowd and they were divided into two classes, namely the wets and the drys. Who suffered most would be hard to describe. The drys made a feeble attempt to enjoy themselves while the wets with parched lips and swollen tongue looked on and beheld the mournful sight. Ye scribe whose system requires a large amount of moisture suffered untold agony, but when the torture became unbearable we took to water like a duck.
Two families arrived from Milwaukee last week. They are going to take care of 15 acres of sugar beets for Henry Albrecht, this summer.
Mrs. Chas Neinas of Granton attended the society at R. Guk’s last Friday.
The Pusheck family entertained company from the Town of Rock Sunday.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jensen took in the basket sociable at Chili Saturday night.
