Hubing, Luann Marna (Marriage - 8 June 1963)

The marriage of Luann Marna Hubing, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hubing of Neillsville, and William A. Hoffman; son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hoffman of Clayton, Mich., was solemnized Saturday afternoon in the First Methodist Church of Neillsville. The Rev. Lloyd Mauer officiated at a double ring ceremony.

Escorted to the altar by her father, the bride was attired in a floor-length gown styled of Peau De Soie, with a fitted bodice that featured a scalloped Venice lace neckline enhanced with pearls. The long, tapered sleeves came to a point at the wrist. The full bouffant skirt featured Venice lace motifs, and the back was accented with a large bow which ended in a chapel train. A net crown, enhanced with pearls, held the silk illusion veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of lilies-of-the-valley, centered by a white orchid.

Miss Donna Henry of Milwaukee served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Katherine Manz of Neillsville and Mrs. Dennis Harcey of New Richmond. Junior bridesmaid was Miss Charlene Jacob, a niece of the bride.  The attendants were attired in street length dresses of aqua Alencon georgette, with draped bodices, shirred cummerbunds and full, gathered skirts which were complete with a deep hem. They carried colonial-style bouquets of yellow and pink tea roses.

The groom was attended by Philip Daisher of Adrain, Mich., as bestman. Groomsmen were Richard Birkner of Chicago, and William Gentner of Brooklyn, Mich. Ushers were the groomsmen and Jack Pankow of Ypsilanti, Mich.

"The Lord’s Prayer" and "The Song of Ruth" were sung by Mrs. John Flynn, Jr., of Oshkosh, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Jas. A. Musil.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Masonic Temple for 120 guests.  Miss Linda Diehl of Minneapolis, Minn., served as hostess.  Mrs. Robert Jacob, Mrs. William Gentner and Mrs. Philip Daisher served the wedding cake, and punch was poured by Miss Patricia Schield of Milwaukee.  Mary Manz was in charge of registration.

Following the day’s activities the couple left on a wedding trip to Northern Wisconsin. After June 15 they will make their home at 345 Main St., Battle Creek, Mich.

The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School and attended Gale Institute in Minneapolis. She has been employed by the North Central Airline in Chicago, Ill.
