Scott, Allen, H. (11 SEP 1921 - 3 NOV 2011)
Allen Scott, 90, of Stratford,
formerly of Neillsville, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, at the
Hospice House in Wausau.
Allen Harris Scott was born Sept. 11, 1921, in Eau Claire County
the son of William and Wilma (Schreiner) Scott. On Aug. 8, 1945. he
was united in marriage to Arcella "Sally" Roetter in Eau Claire.
They then moved to the state of Washington, where their son,
William was born. Two years later, they moved back to Wisconsin and
owned a Texaco gas station and farmed in Bloomer. In 1963, they
sold the gas station and moved to Neillsville, where they farmed on
County Road C. They retired in 1981 and moved to Maple Road. Sally
died in 2005 and shortly after Allen moved to Stratford.
He was a member of the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in
Neillsville. For many years he and his wife were leaders of the
Happy Hollow 4-H Club. Allen enjoyed woodworking, fishing, bowling
and traveling.
He is survived by two children, William (Shelly) Scott of Calhan,
Colo., and Bonnie Scott of Wausau, four grandchildren, Michael
(Suzanne), Ashley, (Pete), Nickolaus and Brandson, and four great
grandchildren, Wil, Jacob, Carlie and Alexander.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arcella "Sally", a grandson,
David, his parents and two brothers, Stanley and Richard.
A Memorial Service for Allen will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday,
Nov. 10, 2011, at the Living Hope Evangelical Free Church in
Neillsville. Pastor Steven Wentz will officiate.
