Olichwier, Josephine (10 MAY 1874 - 9 FEB 1959)

 

Last rites were held at St. Hedwig’s School Chapel in the city at ten o’clock Feb. 12th for Mrs. John (Josephine) Olichwier, 84, of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), who passed away of old age infirmities at the Stanley hospital Feb. 10, 1959 (Previous obit says she died Feb. 9).  The deceased’s grandson, Rev. Father Chester B. Moczarny of St. Joseph’s Convent, Stevens Point, officiated.

 

The deceased was born in Poland May 10, 1874.  Upon coming to America she resided for a number of years in the Town of Withee and the past several years with her daughter, Mrs. Mary Moczarny in the City of Thorp.  Her husband died in 1942.

 

Besides her daughter, Mrs. Moczarny, she is survived by one son, Edward Olichwier of Stanley, eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

 

Interment took place in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery.  Pallbearers were Paul Cukla, Stanley Zawadcki, Joseph Leja, James Grabon, Peter Slowiak and Stanley Janicki.

 

Relatives from out of town who were here to attend the funeral were: Mrs. Elmer Johnson, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Olichwier, Chicago; Alois and Dolores Olichwier, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Onell and son, Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Moczarny and family, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Peter Slowiak and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leja, Stanley, Mother M. angelica and Sister M. Anephilia, St. Joseph’s Convent, Stevens Point, Wis.
