Broeren, Jean (9 MAR 1892 - 17 FEB 1959)
Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at Bloomer Feb. 20th for Mrs. Ben Broeren, 66, of Bloomer, who died Feb. 17th, 1959 at the Stanley Victory Hospital after an illness of over a year. Rev. Ralph Geisler officiated and interment took place in the North Catholic Cemetery at Bloomer.
Pallbearers were Arthur Ruff, M.K. Kamla, Emil Goetil, Eugene Eder, Herman Haas and Louis Revoir.
The former Loretta Tormey was born at Stanley on March 9, 1892, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tormey. The family resided at Boyd, Eau Claire and Park Falls before returning to Thorp in 1907. In 1915 she was united in marriage to Benjamin Broeren and they made their home in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), Wis., until 1927. They made their home in Medford for one year and then moved to Bloomer, where she has since resided. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Paul E. Tormey in 1938 and Cecil G. died during World War I. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Mrs. Donald (Mary) Nelson of Bloomer, and Mrs. Earl (Cecil) Henneman of Eau Claire; a son, Jean C. Broeren of Thorp; a sister, Mrs. H.H. Mockross of Ironwood, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.
