Grace Methodist Church in Greenwood was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Miss Mary Ann Halle, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Halle of Rt. 3, Neillsville, and Lowell Gerber of Rockford, Ill., son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Gerber of Neillsville. The Rev. Gene Carlson, a former pastor and now of Ellsworth, performed the double ring ceremony before an altar banked with baskets of white gladioli.
Mr. Halle gave his daughter in marriage. She was attired in a white floor-length gown of bridal taffeta, styled with a Sabrina neckline trimmed with sequins and pearls. Her long sleeves buttoned at the wrist, and the Basque bodice and full bouffant skirt were enhanced at various places with lace appliqué orchids. The back featured a pouf bustle, garlanded with cabbage roses, and a chapel train. Her veil of bridal illusion was attached to a crown of silk organza bows, trimmed with pearls. She carried a bouquet of white rosebuds centered with a white orchid.
Matron-of-honor was her sister, Mrs. Lee Kurasz. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Jim Gall, Miss Cleo Galbreath, Miss Sharon Drescher and Miss Darlene McCarty; and junior bridesmaid was Miss Lori Opelt. They wore dresses of white nylon over taffeta and net, styled with appliqués of green ribbon. They carried bouquets of white and green carnations.
Jim Gall was best man. Groomsmen were Lee Kurasz, Mike Holub, Donald Boon and Dick Pfefferkorn of Platteville. Ushers were Merlin Gerber and Bernard Opelt.
Junior groomsman was Glenn Halle, brother of the bride, and ringbearers were N icky Sue and Ricky Gerber, niece and nephew of the groom.
"O Perfect Love" and "The Lord’s Prayer" were sung by Danny, Kathy, Dicky and Mary Slone, accompanied by their mother, Mrs. Grant Slone.
Three hundred guests attended a lawn supper at the bride’s home.
The bride is a graduate of Neillsville High School, attended Stout State College and was graduated from the Humboldt Institute in Minneapolis. Mr. Gerber also is a graduate of Neillsville High School and has served four years in the Navy.
