Winters, Mr. and Mrs. Tom (70th - 1963)
Mr. and Mrs. Tom Winters quietly observed their 70th wedding anniversary Friday at their home at 304 Court Street in Neillsville, with their three children and their families present for the occasion.
Their children are Mrs. Irving Stevens of Shortville, Mrs. Floyd Wall and Mrs. Jim Vincent of Neillsville.
The Winters operated the Shortville Store for a number of years before moving to Neillsville. They also farmed for many years in the Shortville area.
Mr. Winters was active in public affairs, having been town chairman and supervisor for the Town of Washburn and school treasurer. He also took the census for several years. He had been a director of the Lynn Mutual Insurance Company for 40 years.
They have seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. and Mrs. Winters have the distinction of being the oldest living married couple in Clark County. They are 95 and 94 years young.
