Hakes, Jennie (21 AUG 1882 - 17 FEB 1959)

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie Hakes were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Cornell, Rev. David Campbell officiating.  Burial was in Cornell Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Hakes passed away Feb. 17, 1959 at Billings, Mont. at the home of her son, Vern.

 

Mrs. Hakes was born in Eidsvold (Clark Co., Wis.) on Aug. 21, 1882, the daughter of Ruben and Mary Warden.  She was married to Lewis Hakes in Eidsvold, March 25, 1900.  They lived in North Dakota for four years, then moved to Cornell, Holcombe and Ruby, where she had resided since 1918.  In October of 1953 she went to Billings, Mont. to live with her son.

 

Surviving are two sons, Vern of Billings, Mont., Thomas of Ingamar, Mont., one daughter, Mrs. John (Ethel) Klimeck of Stetsonville, Wis., seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; one sister, mrs. Walter (Lillian) Brenner of Thorp; four brothers, Charles of Rib Lake, Guy of Eau Claire, James of Chippewa Falls and Edward of Cornell.  She was preceded in death by her husband in October 1937; five children, one sister and one brother.
