Maslanka, Steve (14 NOV 1880 - 15 MAR 1959)
Last rites were conducted by the Rev. Francis Piekarski at St. Hedwig’s Chapel in the city at ten o’clock Wednesday morning, March 18th, for Steve Maslanka, 78, who died of a heart attack near his farm home in the Town of Butler (Clark Co., Wis.) on Sunday, March 15, 1959.
The deceased was born in Germany on Nov. 14, 1880 and came to America at the age of three years.
He lived at Joliet, Ill. and Owen, Wis. before coming to Thorp and locating on a farm in the Town of Butler, where he had been for many years.
He is survived by his wife, the former Stella Malinowski, to whom he was united in marriage on Nov. 14, 1950; three sons, Richard Maslanka of Abbotsford and Emil and Frank Maslanka of Rockford, Ill.; two sisters, Mrs. Ann Sosinski of Oshkosh, Wis., and Mrs. Katherine Perchorowicz of Chicago, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, the late Nellie Czyzewicz, to whom he was married in Oct. 1917 and who died March 11, 1948; also three brothers, Barney, Johnny and Mike, and two sisters, Frances Egnoski and Rose Fahlbusch.
He was laid to rest in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Djubenski, Jack Conklin, Ray Collins, Andrew Djubenski, Stanley Djubenski, and Oliver LaFlex.
