McGiern, Katherine (4 August 1893 - 15 July 1963)
Mrs. Bernard McGiern, 69, of Greenwood died at 6 p.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, where she was admitted the day before. She had been in poor health for the last year.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. today (Thursday) from the Hill Funeral home, and at 10 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Norbert Weber will officiate. Burial will be made in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
She was born August 4, 1893, in Kaukauna; her maiden name was Katherine Derks. Her parents were John and Mary Derks. She was married October 15, 1915, to Bernard McGiern in Stanley.
They came to Greenwood in 1948 and settled on the former John Kuehn Farm, northwest of Greenwood, where they remained until they retired about five years ago.
She is survived by her husband, a sister, Mrs. Henry (Dina) Willenberd of Stanley; and two brothers, Joseph of Appleton and John of Stanley.
