Rondorf, Shirley Elizabeth (Marriage - 13 July 1963)

The Rev. Norbert Weber of Sparta officiated at a double ring ceremony in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood Saturday uniting in marriage Miss Shirley Elizabeth Rondorf, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Rondorf of Rt. 1 Greenwood, and Kenneth Lee Verhalen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Verhalen of Rt. 2 Loyal.

One hundred guests witnessed as Mr. Rondorf gave his daughter in marriage. For her wedding she chose a floor length gown of Chantilly lace, styled with a fitted bodice and with a jewel trimmed neckline. The full, bouffant skirt featured all-around tiers of lace over taffeta, with nylon net ruffles ending in a chapel sweep. A bouffant veil of silk illusion was secured by a crown of pearlized orange blossoms. She carried a bridal bouquet of yellow roses entwined with ivy and stephanotis.

Miss Bonnie Verhalen of Loyal served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Janet Rondorf of Greenwood and Miss Patricia Susa of Milwaukee.  They wore street-length dresses of aqua silk organza over taffeta.  The dresses were styled with draped necklines and paneled backs. Their bouquets were champagne carnations with greens and net. They wore matching petal headpieces.

Mr. Verhalen was attended by Raymond Rondorf as bestman. Ushers were Terrance Rogstad of Loyal and Robert Rondorf of Greenwood.

Nuptial music was furnished by the church choir.

Mrs. Verhalen is a 1962 graduate of Greenwood High School and has been employed in office work in Greenwood.  Mr. Verhalen, a 1958 graduate of Loyal High School, in engaged in carpenter work.

On their return from a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin, Mr. and Mrs. Verhalen will reside on Rt. 2, Loyal.
