Bower, Eileen Charlotte (Marriage - 13 July 1963)
The Congregational Church in Owen was the setting July 13 for the wedding of Miss Eileen Charlotte Bower, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bower of Rt. 1, Owen , and August Schreiber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmor Schreiber of Ladysmith. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ralph Claybough. The Church decorations were bouquets of chrysanthemums dyed to match the dresses of the attendants.
"I Love You Truly" and "the Lord’s Prayer" were sung by Miss Diane Burhop, accompanied by Mrs. Herman Rabska.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of Chantilly-type lace and tulle. The gown was styled with a scalloped Sabrina neckline, embellished with pearls. The story book skirt featured tulle insertions and appliqués of lace. Her bouffant veil was attached to a double tiara and she carried a bouquet of red and white roses.
Maid-of-honor was Miss Nancy Jean Bower of Owen. Bridesmaids were Miss Marjorie Hein of West Allis and Mrs. Allen Bower of Milwaukee. They wore ballerina-length dresses of silk organza and summer hats of tulle in pastels of lavender, yellow and blue. They carried fans of carnations dyed to match their dresses.
Alfred Schreiber of Ladysmith attended the groom as bestman. Groomsmen were Paul Neznik of Withee and Allen Bower of Ladysmith. Ushers were Galen and Dale Bower.
The bride, a 1958 graduate of Owen-Withee high School and a 1962 graduate of Wisconsin State Teachers College in Whitewater, has been the commercial teacher in the Gillett School system. Mr. Schreiber, a graduate of the Tony High School, is a truck driver. They are residing in Withee.
