Auberg, Roy #2 (27 SEP 1916 - 31 MAR 1959)
Roy Auberg, manager and co-owner of Auberg Pontiac and a business man in the village of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.) for more than 20 years, died Suddenly Tuesday afternoon, March 31, 1959. Death was attributed to a heart condition.
He had been at the garage working strenuously that forenoon and upon coming home for lunch at noon complained of not feeling well and decided to lie down for a rest. Later when his wife went to awaken him she found that he had apparently suffered a heart attack during his sleep.
He attained the age of 42 years, 6 months and 4 days. His sudden death came as a distinct shock to his family and the entire community.
Born Sept. 27, 1916, at Withee, Wis., Roy Auberg was the son of the late Adolph and his wife Bertha, nee Anderson. He received his elementary education in the public school at Withee. He was married on Nov. 17, 1938 to Miss Veryl Buss, who survives him. One daughter was born to this union, named Judith. She is a senior this year in the Owen-Withee High School.
The deceased was well-known at Withee, as he operated the Auberg Pontiac Garage for a number of years. The Withee Café was also a project operated by him and his wife. He was of a personable disposition and generous to a fault.
He had been baptized in infancy in the Nazareth Lutheran Church, Withee, and became a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee, in November 1954. The marriage ceremony on Nov. 17, 1938 was performed at the Lutheran Parsonage in Thorp by Rev. F.H. Sprengler.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 3 at 2:00 p.m., at the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee, being conducted by Pastor Theodore Predoehl.
Mrs. Herman Rabska was organist, and Mrs. Theodore Klabon, the singer. Pallbearers, regular were: Paul Tomich, Walter Draheim, Harry Bonk, Bill McAdam, Norbert Bruchert, Lester Hansen. Honorary pallbearers were: Robert McAdam, Edgar Linjer, Grant Anderson, Lester Jackson, Ervin Zelm, Ed La Page.
In charge of floral offering sere: Mrs. Bill McAdam, Mrs. Paul Tomich, Mrs. Norbert Bruchert, Mrs. Lester Hansen, Mrs. Robert McAdam, Mrs. Edward Le Page, Mrs. Grant Anderson, Mrs. Lester Jackson, Mrs. Ervin Zelm, Mrs. Robert Pence, Mrs. Clyde Pope, Mrs. Wm. Veurink, Mrs. Lawrence Christopherson, Mrs. Cecil Tormey and Mrs. Mike Krach.
The deceased is bereaved by his sorrowing widow, Veryl, and daughter, Judith, also his aged mother, Mrs. Bertha Auberg, one sister, Mrs. Martin Paulsen, and two brothers, Bernard Auberg of Withee, and Anton B. Auberg of Eau Claire. One sister, Mildred, had preceded him, having died in infancy, as well as two younger brothers, Harold and Gordon.
