Vrkljan, Anton #2 (18 NOV 1886 - 21 APR 1959)
Anton Vrkljan, 72, retired farmer of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), who had been residing at the Havenet Nursing Home at Owen, died at that home on April 21, 1959, after a lingering illness.
The deceased was born in St. Rok, Yugoslavia on Nov. 18, 1886. He came to America in 1903 and came to Withee in 1911, moving on a farm 5 ½ miles southwest of the village.
He was united in marriage on Nov. 12, 1924 to Mary Flipon, at Neillsville, Wis.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son, Rudolph Vrkljan of Withee, two daughters, Mrs. Josephine Linders and Francis Vrkljan of St. Paul; one brother, John Worklan, Bloomingdale, Ohio, one sister, Mary Pasturovic in Yugoslavia, and one grandchild, Vincent Linders.
Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Chapel in Thorp City at ten o’clock on Thursday morning, April 23rd, Rev. Francis Piekarski officiating, and interment followed in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Amacher, Steve Pacewicz, Arthur Smasal, Hugo Wolters, Emil Malnar, and Walter Zawadzki.
