Arnold Worchel came home from Cayuga Friday.
Miss Hallie Eberhardt went home to Camp Douglas on Saturday.
Cash Ide spent most of last week with friends in Jackson Co.
Chas. reed transacted business at Marshfield on Friday.
Mrs. Mary J. Huff came over Saturday and spent several days with town friends.
The Misses Pearl and Haidee Beeckler are spending the vacation week at home.
H.C. Prange of Plymouth was an over Sunday guests of his friend W.J. Davis.
Mr. Morrissey, after a 5 day visit at Rush Wentworth’s, returned to Edgerton on Monday.
Mrs. Fred Hart and daughters Irene and Lenore are visiting at Humbird since Monday.
Miss Bessie Beeckler returned to Sheboygan Wednesday and resumed her school work there.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Striegel of Black Creek were guests at the Gus Bergeman home between last week Thursday and this week Wednesday.
Mrs. Earl Pickett of Spencer came down Saturday and remained until Wednesday, visiting at E.A. Beeckler’s.
Herman Below of Spencer has accepted a position with F. Schwantes and began work there on Tuesday.
Christian and Rob Keller, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jensen and Mrs. Eugene Crandall were Neillsville visitors on Monday.
Wm. Schlinsog came to town from Greenwood last week Wednesday and remained over Easter, visiting his parents.
Rice Davis went to Arpin Wednesday on a business and pleasure trip.
The concert and dance Monday evening netted the band the neat sum of $66.50.
Miss Bertha Barth went home Tuesday to attend the wedding next day at Richfield, of her friends, Miss Emma Klumb to Mr. Ernest Krause of Nasonville.
Mrs. Lyons of Frazier, after a week’s visit with her brother Alfred Johnson and family, went home on Saturday.
W.S. Davis transacted business at Ellsworth the latter part of last week, and at Taylor the fore part of this week.
Ross Paulson returned from his Dakota horse buying trip last Friday with a car load of heavy horses, mostly brood mares.
Philmore Kemmeter arrived home Saturday after more than a year’s absence spent in various Pacific coast points.
To Mrs. Eli Williams is due the usual thanks of the full number of little folks for her annual Easter time with the delightful array of colored eggs. She is master in the art of preparing.
Mrs. R. Rath entertained the Priscillas Wednesday at a sugar party in the Homer Downer sugar bush.
Silas Delano of Humbird spent the first half of the week here at the Fred Hart home.
Ed Paulson, with his car load of goods, left this week for his Dakota home.
The Mesdames A.J. Knorr, B. Tragsdorf, Price Lee and Geo. Frei were Marshfield visitors on Thursday.
Miss Lela Potter went home to Grand Rapids on Saturday.
Miss Amanda Lange of Watertown is expected tomorrow to visit her aunt, Mrs. Jos. Reiff.
Mrs. Jos Reiff and son Edwin visited Neillsville friends on Tuesday.
Miss Effie Herman of Chili was a guest at the Frank Davis home early this week.
Little Orlinda Osgood is suffering with whooping cough.
Miss Myrtle Knorr entertained the O.E.S. birthday club last Saturday.
Mrs. Hale Davis has been entertaining the mumps since early last week.
Wm. Oliver of Merrillan spent Monday here.
Mr. and Mrs. John Fraser of Chili were Easter guests at the home of their son, George.
Miss Lillian Tragsdorf of Neillsville, who is home from Menomonie for the Easter vacation, spent Monday ere with their friend Miss Myrtle Knorr.
Miss Lydia Schier came over from Marshfield Saturday to spend Easter at home.
Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Huntley went to Hewettville Saturday and made an over Sunday visit at H. Albright’s.
Geo. Frei transacted business at Chili on Tuesday.
Aug. Schwantes and son came down from Spencer Saturday and remained over Tuesday with the C.F. Greeler family.
Mrs. N.E. Crandall visited at her son Gene’s here the first of the week.
Mrs. Geo. Rose and daughter Pearl went to Plymouth Monday to spend the balance of the week with relatives in that city.
Mr. and Mrs. Nickel and little daughter came down from Unity last Friday and remained over Easter visiting her brother, Fred Schwantes, on the ridge.
Mrs. Wm. Schlinsog Sr., accompanied by her son Wm. Of Greenwood, went to Marshfield Monday where the former is taking treatment for eye troubles.
The Misses Gladys and Anita Winters, with Elsie Carter of Shortville, were welcome guests her on Monday.
Wesley Hart, a young nephew of Fred Hart’s, arrived here Tuesday from Castleton, Ontario, to accept a position with his uncle here in the meat market.
Miss Jessie Morris went home to Hayward Wednesday for a few weeks’ vacation and visit.
Rev. Zielsdorf of Nasonville, Rev. Kamena of Loyal and Rev. J. Reiff of this place will go to De Pere Monday to attend a conference.
Student Stelzer, after a week’s visit at Rev. Reiff’s went home to St. Paul on Tuesday.
David Steele and Kearney Davis made a deal this week wherein Dave becomes the owner of the Kearney Davis farm and Kearny the owner of the Steele residence property in town.
J.B. Daughhetee and Geo. Wilson, who purchased some pure bred Holstein stock at Sheboygan last week, unloaded same here Wednesday. Among the handsome critters were some they paid as much as $350 a piece for.
Elmer Knicle has added a whey separator to his factory equipment since last week.
Chas. Kapka and Irving Lowe were over from Neillsville on business on Monday.
Mrs. Aug. Storm of Colby spent Monday here with the Wm. Storm family and enjoyed the concert that evening.
Emil Schoenfeld, the York Center Cheese Factory owner, is enjoying riding behind his own driver which he left in Alma some months since. Geo. Burmeister, a friend of his, drove across country with and delivered her here safely on Monday. Burmeister took the train for home the next day.
Mrs. E.A. Beeckler was the victim on Saturday last of a delightful surprise party greatly enjoyed by herself and 27 of her old friends and neighbors.
Rev. Hasz spent Friday afternoon at Chili.
Miss Shapiro went home to Medford on Saturday.
Miss Bennett went home for the Easter vacation.
Ben Dudei transacted business at Marshfield on Saturday.
Bush Davis went home to Loyal Saturday.
Irving Moldenhauer is here on a visit with his brother Walter since Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. Breitenbach of Black Creek came last Friday for a visit at the Gus Bergeman home.
Mrs. John Herrian and baby daughter, after a winter’s sojourn here with Mr. and Mrs. Mike Grasser, departed for their home at Glendive, Mont. on Saturday.
Miss Elizabeth Guk came up from Milwaukee Friday to spend a week with relatives and attend the wedding of her niece, Miss Emma Neinas, which took place last Wednesday.
Mrs. Ed Jacobson and nine month old baby Genevieve arrived from Los Angeles, Calif. last week Wednesday for an extended visit with Mrs. Walter Page, Milton and Irl Page and grandpa Dows down on the farm. She reports her father, Warren Page, to be with her Uncle Warren Page in Washington.
Mr. and Mrs. W.D. rose returned from Milwaukee last last week.
Mrs. Oosterhaus of Waldo, after a week’s visit at the Henry Lawson home, returned to Waldo yesterday.
Mrs. Gus Hagen and baby went to Neillsville Friday and made an over Sunday visit.
Mrs. Preston, who has spent the past several weeks between the Prof. Vincent and Frank Preston home, departed for her home at Cascade yesterday.
Mrs. Aukland of Waldo, after week’s visit between the H.S. Agin and Fred Tyler homes here, and Dr. Housley at Chili, went home yesterday.
Mrs. Dave Williams went home to Neillsville Tuesday.
The Granton brass band will furnish music for the show and the dance tomorrow night.
Miss Elsie Snyder visited between the A.J. Knorr and George Brooks homes a couple of days this week.
The Pan American Octet of Jubilee Singers is the musical treat offered at the Neillsville Opera House tomorrow, Saturday night.
Mrs. Tragsdorf o Neillsville, a lifelong friend of the Knorr’s, was the guest of Mrs. Baer Wednesday and enjoyed the party that evening.
Rev. Wolf of York Center will preach in the Union Church here next Sunday evening at 8 o’clock.
The Shortville Dramatic Club will present the Western play "Borderland" at the Granton Opera House tomorrow, Saturday evening. Dance after the performance. Prices are 15 and 25 cents.
The Circle Fair and supper last week Thursday afforded us a very good eat and enjoyable evening. The evenings receipts were a little over $40.00.
Price Lee, Gus Bergeman, John Kintzele, Mrs. A.J. Knorr and her daughter Myrtle were Neillsville visitors last Friday.
J.S. Arthur of Sheboygan Co. is here since Tuesday visiting the W.J. Davis Home. He is a brother of Mrs. Davis.
Len Howard and Al Jensen of Neillsville were here on business Tuesday. Len bought a team of heavy horses of Ross Paulson.
Frances and Stella Davis spent Wednesday at Aug. Dankemyer’s in Chili.
Chris Gerzemehle left last Friday for Owatonna, Minn. on an extended visit to his son C. Tischer.
Mr. and Mrs. John Bladl, Mr. and Mrs. Will Hubing, Mrs. Geimer attended church at Chili Wednesday morning.
Lautenbach & Greunke, the new firm which was formed early last week, dissolved partnership again Friday and Mr. Lautenbach is again the sole owner of the business. Mr. Greunke is undecided as to his future plans, but will probably locate in Marshfield.
Herman and Rosa Konshak, after a week’s visit at the Herman Riedel home, went home to Dorchester Wednesday. Master Alfred Riedel accompanied them for a short visit.
W.J. Thayer took active charge of the hardware business recently purchased of Knorr & Rausch, early this week, the taking of inventory which required several weeks, being completed on Tuesday. Mr. Thayer comes here with a reputation of an honest and industrious businessman. He has clearly shown his ability in business while ahiving had charge of the county farm for some years past. He has the distinction of being the first man at that post who succeeded in managing that farm on a paying basis, there being near $400 clear profit that past year, the first time in its history. We wish Mr. Thayer all the success he is deserving in his new undertaking.
