Staroselec, Edmund (9 JUN 1915 - 29 APR 1959)

 

Citizens of the Gilman community who mourn the sudden demise of Edmund Staroselec, attended last rites for the local bank employee, which were conducted by Rev. John Dzurko at St. Peter and Paul Church at Gilman at ten o’clock Saturday morning, May 2nd.

 

Death was caused by coronary thrombosis and occurred at his home on Wednesday, April 29, 1959.  He was 43 years of age.

 

Edmund George Staroselec was born in Gilman on June 9, 1915.  He was united in marriage to Marjorie May Slota at St. Peter and Paul Church at Gilman on Dec. 27, 1945.

 

Serving in the armed forces from 1941 to 1945, he spent 39 months in the south Pacific in the 912 Signal Corps as technical sergeant attached to the air force.  A graduate of the electrical engineering course of the University of Wisconsin, he was employed as an engineer with Western Electric in Chicago for six years before entering the employee of the State Bank of Gilman in 1948.  He was an honest, straight forward person who was well liked by members of the community which he served so well.

 

He was secretary of the Clark-Taylor County Bankers’ Association, Gilman Village Treasurer, member of the local American Legion Post, the Gilman Lions Club and the Holy Name Society.

 

He leaves to mourn his untimely death, his wife Marjorie, two sons, George Allan and Thomas Albin, one daughter, Mary Louise, and one brother, Richard of Buffalo, N.Y.  Three sisters preceded him in death.

 

He was laid to rest in Meadowbrook Cemetery at Gilman.  Pallbearers were Milton Sromek, Joseph Kapsy, Louis Chaplinski, Frank Kondrasuk, Albert Mravik and Clement Beyerl.

 

Relatives and friends from out of town who were here to attend the funeral were: Dr. and Mrs. B. R. Slota and children of Thorp, Henry Wiszneski and Leonard Wiszneski, Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Slota, Mrs. Ed Wnukowski and Jos. Przesmikci, Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. I. Szymanski, Mr. and Mrs. Art Szymanski, Robert Szymanski and Mrs. Cecilia Parks of Thorp, Mr. and Mrs. James Thompson and Mrs. Palmer Larson, Chippewa Falls, Mr. and Mrs. P.L. Paul Jr. and Mary and Tom Paul of Stanley.
