A boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Hixon Mead Thursday, the 5th.
Eben Ketchpaw went to LaCrosse Tuesday to take a course at Toland’s.
The second club dance will be given by the dancing club Friday, Dec. 20th.
The German Ladies society will meet with Ella Wollenberg tomorrow, the 13th.
Mrs. C.H. Brown and baby girl started for their hoe at Mott, N.D., Tuesday.
Neil McMillian of Medford has been visiting his cousins at the Pfunder residence.
The Ladies Aid society will meet with Mrs. Albert Shanks Friday afternoon, Dec. 13th.
Mrs. Albert Eidsmoe of Crandon is visiting her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Will Harlow.
Mrs. Rosa Alton went to Fond du Lac Monday to visit her daughter, Mr. H.R. Livesay.
Harry Hartson started for LaCrosse Monday where he expects to take a business course at Toland’s.
Arthur Borigo, who has been visiting his mother the past two weeks, has returned to school at Fond du Lac.
Roy Brown of Merrillan is visiting relatives at the Wesenberg hoe ad at Geo. Brown’s southeast of town.
Miss Emma Sweet arrived last Wednesday to keep ouse for her father, Rev. Sweet of the Baptist church.
Twins were born to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Millard week before last, a boy and a girl. The girl died but the boy is doing nicely.
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Tuttle and children came over from Greenwood to visit Roy’s folks. Roy returned Monday morning, but Mrs. Tuttle and the children remained for a longer visit. -- Colby Phonograph.
Al. Delaney and family returned Tuesday from the west and have moved into the Geo. Carpenter house where they lived before they went away. Conditions in the west are not good just now on account of the recent financial trouble.
Len Shanks received a visit last week from a brother who resides at Fond du Lac. Len took his brother deer hunting and they were successful in killing a fine doe, which his brother took back to Fond du Lac with him. -- Mellen Weekly
A farmers institute will be held at Spencer Dec. 19th and 20th and at Owen the same dates. Farmers in this vicinity will have some distance to go to attend the institute this year. However, they promise it to be worth all the inconvenience getting to them.
Adolph McKenna made his parents a short visit a few days ago. He is working for a big construction company on the Great Northern. Until recently he has been at Berthold, N.D., but now goes to Fernie, British Columbia. A new line of the Great Northern is to be built into Canada.
Last week we received a little box from Mrs. Sarah Meek at Mabton, Wash., containing some fine strawberries which she says they are enjoying at present. The samples were somewhat wilted when they reached us but they still had the shortcake odor and provoked in us the longing that we must wait nine months to satisfy.
