Ammentorp, Roy W. (11 MAY 1921 - 15 NOV 2011)
Roy W. Ammentorp,
90, of Withee, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, at the Clark
County Health Care Center in Owen.
His funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, at
the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee. The Rev. Bonnie Cain will
officiate. A visitation will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. until
the time of service at the church in Withee. Burial will follow the
service in the Nazareth Lutheran Church Cemetery, Withee.
Roy was born May 11, 1921, to Evald and Caroline (Damgaard)
Ammentorp in the town of Longwood. Roy graduated from Withee High
School in 1939 and went on to school at Grandview College and then
on to the Milwaukee School of Engineering for
refrigeration.
Roy proudly served his county in the Navy in World War
II.
Roy and Marian Hansen were joined in marriage on June 19, 1948, at
the First Congregational Church in Owen. Roy owned and operated a
refrigeration business in Milwaukee until 1978 when he and Marian
moved to a farm in the town of Longwood.
Roy is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marian; his son, Don
Ammentorp of Milwaukee, his daughter, Kathy Ammentorp of Milwaukee;
his sisters, Ruth (the late Roger) Wolfram of Eau Claire, and Amy
(Henry) Mauel of Owen; and his brothers, Ray (Shirley) Ammentorp of
West Covina, Calif., Jim (Barb) Ammentorp of Freeport, Ill., and
Marvin (Ruth) Ammentorp of Scottsdale, Ariz.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Patricia
Ammentorp; and his sister, Marian Haas.
The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Owen is assisting the family
with arrangements.
