Cronin, William Henry (26 November 1902 - August 1963)
William Henry Cronin, 60, Glendive, Mont., formerly of Greenwood, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at the home of his sister, Mrs. Owen Williams, in Glendive.
William Cronin was born to Patrick and Anna (Hillman) Cronin, November 26, 1902, in the Town of Warner. He received his education in Greenwood schools, was a cheesemaker and did farm work in this area until four years ago, when he went to Glendive, where he was employed on the ranch of his brother-in-law and sister. He never married.
He is survived by five sisters, Mrs. Owen (Margaret) Williams, of Glendive, Mont., Mrs. Henry (Esther) Goettsch, Mrs. Gertrude McCann, Mrs. Martin (Rosella) Zickert, and Mrs. Phillip (Anna) Vollrath, all of Greenwood; and two brothers, Floyd of Rockford, Ill., and James of Rock Falls, Ill.
Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Hill Funeral Home. The Rev. Orval Egbert, pastor of Zion United Church, officiated. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Clarence Liebzeit, Edward Gregorich, Francis Herr, Ewald Schwarze, George Speich and Alex Moldenhauer.
Miss Nettie Miller sang, "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and "Nearer My God to Thee" accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Daniel Olson.
People from away who attended were: Mrs. Owen Williams and Miss Elenor Williams of Glendive, Mont.; Floyd Cronin of Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. James Cronin of Rock Falls, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Emory Seidl and grandson of Stanley; Gary Vollrath of Sheboygan; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Zickert of Solon Springs; Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Schoettler of Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ozanich of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Schuette of Unity.
