Schwarze, Emma Marie (31 July 1891 - 1 August 1963)
Mrs. Adolph Schwarze, 72, Altoona, formerly of Greenwood, died last Thursday morning in Neillsville. She had been a hospital patient eight weeks, following a heart attack.
The former Emma Marie Kernin, daughter of William and Fredericka Kernin, was born July 31, 1891, in Wisconsin Rapids. Her first marriage was to Ernest Belter in 1918. She was married to Adolph Schwarze July 31, 1935. He died in April 1954.
While living here she was a member of the Zion United Church. The Schwarzes left here in 1952 and lived at Hayward and Granton, where she lived until her husband’s death. She had resided in Altoona the last three years.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. George (Elaine) Nauertz of Altoona; a step-son, Durward Schwarze of Granton; a brother, Emil Kernin, of Mosinee; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Hill Funeral Home in Greenwood with the Rev. Orval Egbert, pastor of Zion United Church, officiating. Burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Wesley Schwarze, Robert Schneider, Frank Perushek, Julius Hoehne, Fred Behrens and Ewald Schwarze. Miss Nettie Miller sang, "In the Garden" and "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Daniel Olson.
