Gross, JoAnn Marie (Marriage - 3 August 1963)
Nuptial vows were exchanged Saturday in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville by Miss JoAnn Marie Gross of Minneapolis, Minn., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Gross of Neillsville, and Craig Blum of Minneapolis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Blum, Sr., of Neillsville. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Bernard T. Kelly before an altar adorned with vases of white and pink gladioli. A bouquet of white carnations was laid at the altar of the Virgin Mary.
Mr. Gross gave his daughter in marriage. For her wedding she chose a floor-length gown of white embroidered organza over taffeta. The bell-shaped skirt was styled with a cummerbund, from which a chapel length train cascaded. The sleeveless, fitted bodice was fashioned with a scoop neckline and a three-quarter-length jacket. A shoulder-length veil was attached to a pearl-studded crown. Her bridal bouquet consisted of pink tea roses and white stephanotis centered with a lavender orchid.
Miss Jeane Svetlik was the maid-of-honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Carol West and Miss Helen Casey of Minneapolis. The attendants were attired in peppermint green organza over taffeta street-length dresses, styled with a floor length overskirt. Blush veils were attached to rose headpieces with pearl-tipped leaves. They carried crescent bouquets of pink roses.
The attendants were Wayne Gross, bestman; Spencer Blum and Donald Blum, groomsmen; ushers, Herbert Blum, Jr., Brian Schmidt and Richard Pearson.
Ringbearers were Gerald Gross and Donna Beirmart. Karen Gross was the flower girl.
A reception for 150 guests was held in the American Legion Hall. Mr. and Mrs. Blum left Saturday on a short wedding trip to eastern Wisconsin, and on Monday left for Minneapolis, where they are residing at 3030-29th Ave.
The bride is employed in a newspaper office, and Mr. Blum works for a car company and attends an electronics school.
