Rizner, Elizabeth (Marriage - 20 July 1963)
A number of area relatives attended the wedding of Elizabeth Rizner of Elmhurst, Ill., and John Ponath of Watertown, July 20, in St. Peter’s Evangelical and Reformed Church in Elmhurst. Parents of the young couple are Mr. and Mrs. Anton Rizner of Elmhurst and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Ponath of Watertown.
Their attendants were Miss Carole Melchert, maid-of-honor; Mrs. Ruth Welby and Miss Barbara Aberg, attendants; Ellen Thomson, a cousin of the bride, flowergirl; Joseph Kellerman, bestman; David Welby and Wilson Smith, groomsmen; Charles Wendt, Michael Willems and Charles Nicholson, ushers; and Gary Nevermann, a nephew of the groom was ringbearer.
The groom is a 1963 graduate of the University of Wisconsin and now is employed in the sales and promotion department of Campbell’s, the soup manufacturer. The bride also attended the University of Wisconsin. They are making their home at 1115 17th Street, Moline, Ill. Mrs. Ponath is well known in this area having spent some time here with relatives over a period of several years.
Attending the wedding were: Mrs. Frank Ruddock, Mr. and Mrs. William Hrasky, Carol and Franklin Hrasky, all of Neillsville; and Mr. and Mrs. William Rizner and family and Mrs. Ragnar Mortenson and granddaughter of Shortville.
