Sladek, Dawn Sue (4 July 1961 - 12 November 2011)
Dawn Sue Sladek, 50, of Rainsville, AL, passed away peacefully at her home Nov. 12, 2011.
Dawn was born July 4, 1961, in Marshfield, the daughter of Donald Sr. and Lorraine Sue Sladek. She attended Granton Public Schools and graduated high school in 1979. Dawn furthered her education in fashion design in Huntsville, AL. Shortly after graduating high school Dawn moved to Alabama and worked for many years at V. I. Prewett & Son, then Peebles Department Store, and more recently at ABC Beverage.
Dawn was a gentle and sweet animal lover. She loved being outside working with her plants, her flowerbeds and her five horses, with Hanna always being her favorite horse. She enjoyed grooming her horses along with her three cats and her dog. Dawn also enjoyed working with arts and crafts. Although Dawn was normally a very private person, she enjoyed working with the public. She enjoyed her job and loved greeting her customers with a smile on her face. It was apparent they loved her back.
Dawn is survived by her committed partner of 25 years, Bill Wilson; her parents, Donald Sr. and Sue Sladek of Granton; her brothers, Donald Jr. of Marshfield and Dan (Kathy) of McFarland; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to extend their thanks to Delores Wilson for taking care of Dawn for these last few weeks.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2011, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville. Friends and family will celebrate Dawn’s life and remember her with visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Neillsville City Cemetery.
The Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, assisted the family with arrangements.
