Crawford, Dr. Lucretia #2 (Outstanding Faculty Award - 2011)
Lucretia Crawford, a Neillsville native and an associate professor of English at Lakeland College, Sheboygan, was one of six winners of awards presented by the Lakeland College Alumni Association at the college’s homecoming in October.
Crawford was named the winner of the Outstanding Faculty Award. She received her bachelor’s in German from Lakeland in 1980 and received a master’s in English from the University of Notre Dame in 1983, the same year she started teaching at Lakeland. She received her doctorate in English from UW-Milwaukee in 2004. She is a 1976 Neillsville High School graduate.
Among her many accomplishments, Crawford had received the 2002 Underkofler Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching Award, and she is playing a major role in planning Lakeland’s 150th anniversary celebration scheduled for 2012. In her spare time, she volunteers with Make-a-Wish Foundation and the Clark County Historical Society.
The award is a testament to the fact she always makes time for her students, both in and outside of class.
