Schoengarth, Callie D. (28 October 1886 - 25 August 1963)

 

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Gilbertson Funeral Home in Granton for Mrs. Callie D. Schoengarth, 76, of Granton, who died Sunday at her home.  The Rev. Lloyd Mauer of Neillsville officiated.  Burial was made in Windfall Cemetery.

 

Mrs. Schoengarth, the former Callie Downer, was born October 28, 1886, in Windfall, and had resided at Granton for the last 68 years. She attended Granton schools and Neillsville High School and was a graduate of Wisconsin State College in Stevens Point.  She taught locally until her marriage to Herman Schoengarth on July 15, 1908, in Granton.  Mr. Schoengarth died in 1957. 

 

She was a charter member of the Modern Priscillas; a member of the R. N. A. Lodge, No. 6375; the Granton Civic Club; the Methodist Church and its Ladies Aid.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Rawleigh (Marion) Smith of Altoona and Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Wellman of Rock Island, Ill.; and two grandchildren, Roberta and Andy Wellman.

 

Pallbearers were: Francis Steiner, Wendell Wilson, Joe Zimmerman, E. L. Witte, Lloyd Spry and Floyd Winn.
