Foemmel’s Corners (26 May 1911)
Geo. Root had lightning rods put on his buildings last week.
The Mesdames Al Nonhof and Truman Davis called on Mrs. Fradette last week Thursday.
Two of Allie Root’s school mates stayed overnight with her last week Wednesday.
Mrs. John Robinson formerly of Romadka writes that they are now in Clay Center, Kansas.
We have quite a little excitement here now days, for men come in autos, buggies, afoot and on horse back to see the Chicago horses, several of which are already sold.
Al Nonhof and son Glen drove to Marshfield Saturday.
El Lee transacted business here Saturday afternoon.
Roy Clark of Nasonville who is working on the King farm spent Sunday with his mother.
Homer King came over Friday after a load of wood from the farm.
Mr. Lammers came Tuesday and his household goods came Wednesday to Romadka. Several of the farmers helped haul them here.
Miss Emma Boozie spent several days here visiting with friends.
Frant Osgood went to Neillsville on the 11:18 train Tuesday to meet his brother L. B. who came back from Ore.
The farmers will have to sing one of the nursery songs about Rain! Rain! go away, little Johnny wants to play. (Or should they say plow?)
John Howard was here Monday taking orders for lightning rods.
Fred Davis took dinner with his son Truman and family Sunday.
Mr. Lammers will board with Nonhof’s until his wife arrives.
A gentleman from Sheboygan came Wednesday with Mr. Lammers goods and intends to buy some land here.
