Chili (26 May 1911)
We had our plenty of rain, now we seem to get our sunshine again. Grass is growing nicely and if the cut worm is going to quit destroying things we may have something this year.
Herman Koser was in Granton on business Tuesday afternoon.
Degener has 1 more disc on hand which can be had at once.
Al Snow shipped a car of cattle and calves Tuesday.
Otto Kampin can now handle his arm again which he broke some time ago, without a sling.
Chas Bladl bought himself a brand new buggy last week. The old one had seen its best days.
E. R. Behringer has commenced putting up the frame part of Otto Sampe’s new house.
If in need of a new riding cultivator see Degener. He handles 3 styles, all good ones.
Ike Rogers went to Bill Smith’s in Heathville where he is going to do some mason work.
Don’t forget the Decoration Day at Chili next Tuesday. If the weather holds good there will be a parade to the burial grounds in the morning with band music. In the afternoon there will be a program in the M. W. A. Hall, given by school children, choir and band. Mr. Hungerford will deliver an address upon the issues of the day. Everybody is Welcome
The Gebhart Orchestra will give a dance at the Woodmen Hall Saturday evening, June 3rd. Supper will be served at the hall. Dance tickets are 50c. This will be a strictly first class dance.
