Engel, Otto (26 JUN 1921 - 24 NOV 2011)
Otto Engel, 90, of Withee,
passed away Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011 at the Clark County Health Care
Center in Owen. His funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28,
2011 at the Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in the Town of Colby. Rev.
Dr. Paul C. Hunsicker Sr. will officiate. A visitation will be held
Monday from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Burial
will follow the service in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.
Otto was born Jan. 26, 1921 to John and Minna (Pentzek) Engel on
the home farm north of Withee. He attended Frenchtown School until
8th grade.
Otto married the former Violet Stock on Dec. 25, 1943 at Saint
John's Lutheran Church in Withee.
Otto fixed his first radio for money in the sixth grade. He never
went to school for radio and television repair, he read and taught
himself. Otto was an RCA and Admiral franchise dealer. He did radio
and television sales and service and television antenna work until
the age of 82, working out of his shop on the farm.
Otto is survived by his wife Violet Engel of Withee children;
Connie (Jim) Starr of Woodland Park. Colo., Ronald (Pam) Engel of
Goodyear, Ariz. Rita Nordlof (Randy Budrus) of Withee, Jacquelyn
(Wes) Engel-Melander of Loveland, Colo. Grandchildren; Dan Starr,
Jon Starr, Blake Engel, Travis Engel, Audrey (Ken) Wasson, Kris
Nordlof, Tim (Tabitha) Melander, Emily (George) Barany.
Great-grandchildren: Morgan, Kylia, Hailee, Lilly
Nordlof.
Otto is preceded in death by his parents, sister; Anna Lange,
brothers; Bill and Ed Engel and an infant sister; Tillie.
The family would like to thank Ministry Home Care Hospice, the
staff at the Clark County Health Care Center, Ministry Saint
Joseph's Hospital and the Marshfield Clinic for the wonderful care
Otto received.
