Star Corner (2 June 1910)

John Herman and family spent Monday evening in Lynn.

Chas Bass made a purchase of a new double buggy.

Ernest Nitschke had the misfortune to lose one of his best cows by getting its leg broke.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mayhew and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Preston attended the ballgame at Dewhurst Sunday where Mr. Preston and Mr. Mayhew helped Dewhurst trim City Point by the score of 24 to 2.

John Goebel has had his share of bad luck in building his barn. The basement wall was just finished when it was damaged by the wind and rain, and Saturday p.m. the partly completed barn was struck by lightning and quite badly damaged.

Miss Mabel Teatz of York Center is expected Thursday to spend a week with relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Mayhew spent Saturday at Rob Teatz’s.

Albert Bentz has relatives visiting them from Milwaukee.

Mr. Arthur Lammers who recently purchased the Tucker Cheese Factory near Granton, and his brother-in-law Ed Clark of Cascade, Sheboygan Co., called at Frank Preston’s Friday evening.

Miss Vivian Brooks who will finish a very successful year’s work in this district will close her school with a picnic Friday.

Miss Lydia Breseman who is working in Neillsville spent Sunday at her home here.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Grassman and Mrs. Chas Bass were Neillsville callers Friday.

Mrs. Smith and two children of Loyal are spending this week with relatives here.

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Yankee were Lynn callers Tuesday.

Theo. Breseman and Chas Bass are doing mason work for Dave Hillert.

Several from here attended the dance at Willard Christman’s Sunday evening.
