Heathville (9 June 1910)

Sometimes a man is judged by the company he keeps.

The old batch that canned 3,000,000 grass hoppers last summer must be running shy on canned fruit.  Let him try the scheme on cut worms when they are fat.

Say young lady if you have been in the habit of receiving souvenir postal cards, watch the stamp on it very closely.  If upside down it means a kiss from the sender.  See if you have missed any.

Last Tuesday we went to Granton and nearly everyone we met said: "Well Hank, when is it going to quit raining?"   Doggone if we know.  It wasn’t us that helped make this a wet state.

Fred Carpenter has quit smoking, drinking and chewing, but he don’t seem to improve any and is just as foolish now as he always was.

Mrs. Ives is not in her best of health at present. The doctor claims she has symptoms of Bright’s disease.

Henry Davis and wife are here on an extended visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Heath.
