Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Short spent Tuesday at John Fuller’s.

 

Ed Schroeder is putting a new shingle roof on his residence.

 

Mrs. Homer King entertained the Circle, last week.

 

Miss Minnie Herian was over from Neillsville last Friday for a visit at Mike Grasser’s.

 

Miss Florence Sparks of Sherwood spent last Saturday with town friends.

 

Miss Beth (ink blotch) came home last Friday from Milwaukee for a week’s visit.

 

Mrs. Ezra Sherett came home Tuesday from a two weeks visit at Fond du Lac.

 

Mr. Schumaker Sr. of Humbird came Tuesday for a visit with the Hart’s.

 

Mrs. Effie Rowe, after a visit hereabouts returned home to Neillsville, Monday.

 

The Misses Katie and Nellie Dunn were over from Neillsville, canvassing last week.

 

Frank Baer came down from Merrill Saturday and made a several days visit at the Editorial home.

 

Mr. Langdon Nichols has been having dental work done at Neillsville the past several weeks.

 

Some boys’ suits, up to age 7 going at half price at Witte’s

 

R. T. Washburn autoed over from Lynn Tuesday to meet his wife who did not come.

 

Miss Hattie Viergutz spent Tuesday at Neillsville enjoying (?) dental work which was being done for her.

 

Mr. and Mrs. H. Agin, W. S. Davis, and Mrs. Rudolph Viergutz were Neillsville visitors Tuesday.

 

Mrs. Chas Brooks and two daughters Pearl and Lillian are spending the week with grandma Brooks in Neillsville.

 

Dr. Ross is having a large porch built onto the west side of his residence.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Herb Fradette visited at Ross Paulson’s Sunday.

 

Mrs. H. C. Witte is somewhat under the weather suffering with rheumatism.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Budge of Minneapolis were over Sunday guests at W. S. Davis.

 

Roy Hart has been visiting relatives in Marshfield since Sunday.

 

Mrs. Herman Schlinsog is recovering from an operation for the removal of an abscess on her neck.

 

The Misses Emma and Susan Schune are home from Milwaukee on a several weeks visit.

 

Mrs. Gerzemehle and children went to Marshfield Wed. on a visit to her parents.

Mrs. Owen was over from Marshfield last week on a several days visit with Mrs. Livington in York.

 

The Misses Emma and Clara Albright who came from Minneapolis and made a weeks visit at E. R. Wonser’s left for Plymouth, Saturday.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Fradenberg of Humbird came over last Friday and made an over Sunday visit at Fred Hart’s.

 

Helen Zimmer and Edith Lowe came over from Neillsville Tuesday on a couple days visit with the Wagner girls.

 

Geo Hart and family and Leland Davis and family autoed to Arpin and spent Sunday there with relatives.

 

You know W. J. Marsh Dry Goods Co.’s sales are always interesting.  Think of buying beautiful lawns in all colors at 2¼c per yard; sale begins June 23rd thru 28th.

 

Wyatt Borden came down from Loyal late last week and made a several days visit between the John Kintzele, R. C. Beecher, Ell Lee and Levi Morris families.

 

Lost - A hand bag last Saturday, containing purse, comb, and brush, glasses and many things valuable only to the owner. There’s a suitable reward to finder when returned to this office or to owner, Miss Electa Brooks of Lynn.

 

Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Marsh and Mr. and Mrs. John Wright autoed over from Marshfield Sunday.  Mrs. Wright went back with them again that afternoon.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Wm Schlinsog last week celebrated their 45th anniversary of married life. They are both enjoying excellent health and have fair prospects of celebrating their golden wedding five years hence.

 

Mrs. F. S. Thomas and son Cyrus of Lisbon, N. D., have been visiting at ye Editor’s since Wednesday.

 

Mrs. Henry Albrecht came home on Wed. from a several weeks visit to her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Bartz at Rockham, S. D.

 

Will Rinehart who has been working on the section for the past two months has been laid up suffering with ivy poisoning since Tuesday.

 

John Kintzele and his two sons autoed to Dexterville last Tuesday where they spent the day in fishing.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hiles and two children of Chicago will arrive this evening on a ten days visit between the John Martin and John Hiles families.

 

Miss Gladys Wage came home Sat. from Stevens Point where she has attended Normal School for the past year.

 

C. C. Frey of Beaver Dam arrived here Tuesday for a visit at Frank Greeler’s in Town of York.

 

Harry Ober came over from Arpin Wednesday, on business.  Mrs. Ober has been quite sick again of late, though not alarmingly so.

 

Mrs. P. J. Kemmeter went to Merrillan Wednesday to meet her sister Mrs. Phair from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, who with her children came home with her that afternoon.

 

Dr. Ross purchased the Wm. Lawrence’ 80 in Town of York last week; this does not mean that the doctor is going to farming, but he is only investing either his or someone else’s money.

 

Mrs. C. E. Beeckler is substituting on Rural Route No. 3 for carrier L. G. Morris who is enjoying a ten days vacation from his duties.

 

Vet Marsh, district agent for the Nappanee Lumber Co. of Indiana, the makers of the Nappanee stave silo was in town Monday looking up prospective silo buyers.

 

Mrs. Clemens Kuechenmeister will entertain the Ladies Aid of Rev. Reiff’s parish and their friends at her home next Wednesday afternoon, June 28.  All are cordially invited to attend.

 

Stop that headache, that uncomfortable burning and smarting of your eyes.  You need glasses. Get them at Dr. Bachmann’s in Neillsville.

 

The Barnum & Bailey Circus, the biggest circus in the world, will be at Eau Claire Thursday, June 29th.  As this circus is only visiting cities with a population of 20,000 and over, Eau Claire is the nearest place for people in this locality to see this great show.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Peter Paulson of Marshfield were more or less severely hurt through a run-a-way horse jumping into their automobile last Saturday evening.  Mr. Paulson received a broken knee cap and bruises about the body, while Mrs. Paulson escaped with minor bruises. The body of the car is a total wreck.

 

Mr. Adolph Schune and Miss Emma Hankey were married in church at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Reiff officiating.

Mrs. R. T. Washburn came home from Millston on Wednesday.

 

Next Sunday will be Children’s Day picnic in Rev. Reiff’s congregation 2 miles south of here.  Rev. Kemena of Loyal will preach in the forenoon, and in the afternoon a program will be rendered by the children.  Dinner and refreshments will be served on the grounds.  Let everybody go and enjoy themselves.  Music is to be furnished by the Chili Band.

 

A pretty home wedding occurred on Tuesday evening, June 8, at the residence of Judge and Mrs. James O’Neill when their daughter Marian was given in marriage to Mr. Forrest D. Calway.
