Lichte, Fred (August 1829 - 20 June 1911)

Fred Lichte, one of Grant’s early settlers, as the result of a stroke of paralysis suffered some 10 days since, died at his home, Wednesday morning.  He is survived by his daughter, Mrs. Geo Howard and his sons Fred of Lynn and Adolph on the home place; also a number of grandchildren.  His wife and two daughters, Mrs. Kerns and Mrs. Austin Slocomb preceded him in death by but a few years.  Deceased was a highly respected, staunch and delightful old German who had he survived until August of this year would have realized his 82nd birthday.

The funeral will be held from the home at two o’clock this afternoon.
