Foemmel’s Corners (22 June 1911)

Mrs. Geo. Hales had the Dutch measles last week.

Mrs. John Pietenpol has been confined to her bed since Sunday with stomach trouble.

The Mesdames H. A. Nonhof and A. Lammers did shopping in Neillsville Wednesday.

Fred Foemmel Jr. helped his brother Adolph the first of the week.

Geo. Huntley had lightning rods put on his house and barn Tuesday.

Truman Davis and wife called at the J. M. Tompkins home Sunday.

Quite a number from here attended the school meeting at Granton Saturday.  A greater number were against the high school but we feel confident that when it is better understood there will be more in favor of it for surely no one would want their children to plod along in the same old rut, but educate them so they may earn a living easier than we.

The Mesdames Chas Lapham, J. M. Tompkins, W. S. Davis and Geo Budge called on Mrs. John Pietenpol Monday.

Mrs. Chas Hayden is spending the week with her daughter Mrs. Martin and caring for the new granddaughter which came to gladden their home June 20th.

Mrs. Truman Davis spent Tuesday at the John Pietenpol home assisting Miss Ruth with her work.

Victor Krejci is at work shingling the cheese factory for Mr. Lammers.

Lizzie Krause did not have an operation at Rochester but is receiving treatments there.
