Kilty, Robert R. (5 SEP 1928 - 1 DEC 2011)
Robert R. Kilty, 83, of
Spencer, died late Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, evening.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 5, 2011, at St.
John's ECLA Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Rebekah Tarras will
officiate. Interment will be in the North Spencer Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, 2011, at St.
John's ECLA Lutheran Church in Spencer and again from 10 a.m. until
service time on Monday.
Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home Spencer is assisting the family with
arrangements.
Robert was born on Sept. 5, 1928, in the town of Unity, to William
& Florence (Matson) Kilty. He attended Unity Country Schools.
He worked as a Supervisor for the Manufacturing Homes Industry. On
June 7, 1947, Robert was united in marriage to the former Elvira
Goelden. The couple owned and operated "Kilty Kountry Kourt" for 49
years.
Robert enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting when he wasn't working.
He especially like time spent visiting with friends at the local
Tavern.
Robert is lovingly survived by his wife, Elvira Kilty; children,
William (Sandra) Kilty; David (Sandie) Kilty; Judy Schmitt; James
(Janice) Kilty; Paul Kilty; and Pamela Kilty; 18 grandchildren,
Steve Kilty, Scott Kilty, Tracy (Jon) Wagner, Mike (Angie) Loos,
Raymond (Judy) Kilty, Bryan (Tanya) Kilty, Mark (Sarah) Kilty, Pat
(Keresa) Kilty, Tricia (Nate) Fullerton, Josh (Jenny) Kilty, Jonah
(Renee) Kilty, Jason (Cory) Schmitt, Laura Schmitt, Jenny Schmitt,
Donald (Carla) Kilty, Angela (Keith Ostricki) Kilty, Jesse Kilty,
Michelle (Kevin Miedel) Kilty; and numerous great-grandchildren and
great great grandchildren. He is further survived by 2 brothers,
Donald (Virginia) Kilty and Marvin (Lou) Kilty.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son and
daughter-in-law, Gary (Linda) Kilty, as well as 7
siblings.
