Mathews, Minnie (12 JUL 1881 - 18 JUL 1959)
Mrs. George Mathews, route 2, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), died at Victory Hospital in Stanley early Saturday morning.
Mrs. Mathews was born Minnie Krause in Wilton, Wis., July 12, 1881. She moved to Winona, Minn., as a young girl and was married to George Mathews at Walker, Minn., in 1905. They lived in Armstrong, Iowa until 1916, then moved to Taft Township.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Charles, Myron and Dan, all of Eau Claire; three daughters, Mrs. Leo Michels, Fall Creek; Mrs. Erwin Draeger, Thorp; and Mrs. Erwine Behm, Lake Hallie; one sister, Mrs. Arthur Lynachan, Minneapolis; 24 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley with Rev. Robert Olson officiating. Burial was a Lakeview Cemetery, Eau Claire.
