Begley, Grace (30 October 1888 - 28 August 1963)

 

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Miss Grace Begley, 74, of Neillsville, who died Wednesday in Memorial Hospital. She had been a patient in a nursing home in Fairchild for several months.

 

The Rev. Jacob Grether officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

 

Miss Begley was born October 30, 1888, in the town of York, (to Mr. and Mrs. Edward Begley) and had made this community her lifelong home, with the exception of the few months she spent in Fairchild. She attended rural school in the Town of York and the school for the deaf in Black River Falls.

 

Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Marion Begley of Neillsville; and the following nieces and nephews: Mrs. Fred (Blanche) Mohr of Neillsville, Mrs. Dan (Thelma) Francis of Florida, and Russell Begley of Eau Claire.

 

Pallbearers were: Lisle Armitage, Leon Metcalf, Charles Hubing, Arnold Yankee, Herman and Ray Moen.

 

"Rock of Ages" and "I’m but a Stranger there" were sung by Ellis Wall, accompanied by Mrs. Jess W. Scott.

 

People from out of town attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Russell Begley of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Christie of Greenwood; Raymond McKimm of Marshfield; Mrs. Lila Begley of La Crosse; Mrs. Ethel Holt of Granton, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Holt, Donald Holt, and Mrs. William Joyce of Greenwood.

 

Arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.
