Lawrence, Roy Edwin (6 January 1883 - 3 September 1963)
Funeral services for Roy Edwin Lawrence, 80, of Rt. 1 Neillsville, were held Saturday afternoon from the York Center Methodist Church. Mr. Lawrence died September 3, in a Missoula, Mont., hospital of injuries sustained in a car accident on Labor Day. The Rev. Paul Doering of Loyal officiated and burial was made in the York Center Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the Georgas Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Nathan Vandeberg, Donald G. Karlen, Royal F. Karlen, Lawrence H. Karlen, Merlin Jacobson and Walter Hudak. Nyle Benedict, accompanied by Mrs. Donald Pinkerton, sang two hymns, "Beyond the Sunset" and "In the Garden," at the double service for the Lawrence brothers.
Mr. Lawrence was born January 6, 1883 in the Town of York. He was the son of Horace A. and Edna Mae (Smithers) Lawrence. He attended rural schools in York and also attended Cook Electrical School. After graduation he did electrical work and farmed in the Town of York. He was married February 16, 1905, to Sadie Huntley in Neillsville. She died in 1945.
He retired and went to Seattle, Wash., where he was married. Following his marriage he and his wife went to Portland, Ore., where they lived until her death in 1958. In 1960, Mr. Lawrence returned to Clark County and had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Roy Chase, in the Town of York.
Mr. Lawrence is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Herman (Agnes) Karlen of Monticello, Mrs. Francis (Leta) Jacobson of Pittsville, Mrs. Roy (Della) Chase of Neillsville, and Mrs. Lawrence (Vivian) Vandeberg of Marshfield. Other survivors are a twin sister, Mrs. Harmon (Floy) Huntley of Neillsville; two brothers, Orin Lawrence of Neillsville and Earl Lawrence of Missoula, Mont.; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death one day earlier by his brother Harry Horace Lawrence, result of the same car accident.

Manthe, all of Marshfield.
Those from Pittsville were: Mr. and Mrs. Francis Jacobson, Harry Jacobson and Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Zimmendorf.
From Spencer were: Mrs. Lydia Vanderhoof, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bymers and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Shade. From Wisconsin Rapids relatives were: Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Vandeberg, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hudak, Mr. and Mrs. Merlin Jacobson and sons.
