Haas, Irene (15 OCT 1896 - 26 JUL 1959)
Mrs. Robert Haas, 62, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls on Sunday, July 26, 1959, where she had been suffering from a kidney infection and stroke.
The former Irene Baures was born on Oct. 15, 1896 at Arcadia, Wis. She resided there and at Menomonie, Wis., with her parents for several years before coming to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), where they located on a farm south of here.
She was united in marriage to Robert Haas at St. Bernard’s Church on Oct. 15, 1917, and they made their home on a farm in the Town of Worden until eighteen months ago when the family moved to the city of Thorp.
She leaves to mourn, her husband Robert, her father, Henry Baures of Fairchild, Wis., six sons, Melvin, Rt. 2, Thorp, Gerald, Rt. 3, Thorp, Wayne and Richard at home, Wilfred, Rt. 2, Sheboygan, Wis., and Arnold, 1401 S. 17th St., Sheboygan, Wis.; four daughters, Virginia, Mrs. Loren Mullison, Denver, Colo., Marie Haas, Sherman Oaks, Calif., Coletta, Mrs. Elroy Hurth, Cadott, Wis., and Mrs. Theresa Tieman of Thorp, three brothers, Art Baures of Fairchild and Firmin and Edward Baures of Thorp, four sisters, Laura, Mrs. Casper Haas, Thorp, Eleanore, Mrs. Carl Carlson and Margaret, Mrs. John Felker of Minneapolis, and Mary, Mrs. Emil Carlson of Sherman Oaks, Calif.
Rev. Charles Shumacher of Athens, Wis., a cousin of the late Mrs. Haas, officiated at the funeral services which were held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in the city at 9:30 o’clock Wednesday morning, July 29th.
Interment took place in St. Bernard’s Cemetery. Nephews of the deceased were pallbearers: Henry Haas, Casper Haas Jr., Harvey Boie, Dean Haas, James Felker and Leonard Haas.
